At times, life can appear both joyous and heartless in equal measure as your story demonstrates so emotively.

One of the lessons I've learned over the years is to try and live the life gifted to you on your terms, rather than the life expected of you by those around you - No matter how perfect they may consider it for you.

On this matter, you're unlikely to appease either set of parents or families, unfortunately.

But living someone else's version of a perfect life is also unlikely to result in genuine happiness.

Life is seldom perfect, but it's your life. It's your gift. Be grateful for it and do your best to live it, fully, being true to yourself.

Nothing is guaranteed, but that may give you your best chance of discovering true happiness.
